Putnam Battles Adversity in Kentucky
Josh Putnam returned to Kentucky over the weekend for a doubleheader of Super Late Model action.
The weekend kicked off on Friday night at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.), where 18 entries took part in the $10,000-to-win Johnny Mulligan Classic with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series.
Josh started fifth on the grid for the main event and ran in the Top-10 throughout the main event before notching an eighth-place finish.
On Saturday evening the action shifted to Richmond (Ky.) Raceway for a $5,000-to-win Ultimate Heart of America Super Late Model event.
The night started on a high note with Putnam winning his heat race to earn the second-starting spot for the Junebug Rowland Memorial. However, in the feature Putnam was intentionally spun by another competitor and retired to a 25th-place finish.Back to News
